Is Branded Surveys Legit? Do Users Really Make Extra Money?

Branded Surveys tells us that we can join and easily earn rewards. Sounds good, right? But is Branded Surveys legit and a worthwhile way to spend your time?

There are some sketchy platforms out there. So, it’s always a great idea to read some reviews whenever you hear of a new opportunity.

Survey sites are hugely popular with many Internet users. This popularity makes a lot of sense for several reasons. Most survey platforms are free to join ( you need to backpedal quickly if they’re not). Moreover, we typically see promises of fun and easy to earn rewards like cash or gift cards.

So, what’s not to like?

Well, survey-taking is not necessarily all it’s cracked up to be! I’m not suggesting you shouldn’t try surveys. But, it’s a good idea to know what you’re getting into ahead of time.

Let’s explore the Branded Surveys platform and see what it has to offer, shall we?

What is Branded Surveys?

Branded Research, Inc, is the market research firm that owns and operates Branded Surveys. The purpose of the Branded Surveys platform is to bring together companies that are actively seeking consumer insights with people who are eager to make extra money by sharing their opinions through surveys.

Membership in Branded Survey is open to individuals 16 and older in the US, Canada, and the UK. Users under 18 need parental permission to participate. Members earn rewards in the form of either cash or gift cards.

A predecessor survey site called Mintvine rebranded itself as Branded Surveys in November 2017,  The platform has been offering surveys since 2012. No mobile app is available. However, the website is fully responsive and easily used on mobile devices.

Here’s a short video that tells you a bit about Branded Surveys’ mission.

How Does the Branded Community Work?

As is true of virtually all survey sites, signing up with Branded Surveys is free, quick, and straightforward. Here’s the form you will need to complete. Once you verify your email address, you’re in.

Branded Surveys Sign-up

After you join, you will naturally have to complete a demographic profile to be eligible for surveys. Companies are looking for valuable insights to improve their product offerings. They are only interested in paying for consumer input from people who are part of their target market. You have to fit their customer persona to qualify for a survey.

There are 3 ways that members can earn rewards:

  • Paid Surveys
  • Daily Polling Questions
  • Referrals

Paid Surveys

Branded Surveys attempts to filter your survey offerings using their “Survey Matching Engine.” In other words, you will only see surveys where your demographics appear to be a good fit. Unfortunately, their matching process won’t eliminate all disqualifications. But it should improve your experience.

You can also attempt to qualify for surveys with a partner organization. Currently, Branded Surveys is affiliated with Peanut Labs, which expands your opportunities. But it appears that the best way to increase your earnings is by actively participating and completing enough surveys to advance through the Branded Elite ranks.

There are three tiers, which include Bronze, Silver, and Gold, with your level determined by the number of points you earn within the month. Completing specific numbers of surveys within a week will also make you eligible for bonuses.

The image below describes the Branded Elite Tiers.

Branded Elite Tier Descriptions

Surveys generally take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes to complete. Although, I have seen a few that were 30 minutes. Here are the surveys that were listed on my dashboard as I was preparing this review.
Surveys on My Branded Surveys Dashboard

One thing I quickly discovered is that you want to jump on surveys when they appear. I never seem to have more than three options listed, and they fill up quickly. I’m often told that the survey slots are filled, and I have to try again. Branded Surveys will alert you with email messages when new surveys are available (although you can opt-out if you prefer).

Points are worth 1 cent. So, the 19-minute survey for $0.96 is the best option.

If you like the idea of answering some simple questions to earn some side income, you may also want to consider joining some GPT (Get-Paid-To) websites. They all have surveys plus some additional ways to earn like completing offers, downloading apps, and watching videos. You can read about several of my favorite GPT sites here.

Daily Polling Questions

Each day that you log into the platform, you can complete one simple polling question for 5 points. The questions seem somewhat silly and irrelevant. The purpose is to encourage you to log in often by offering an incentive.

Referrals

All users receive an invite code. If you refer your family and friends to the site, you receive 50 points once they become active and achieve Silver Tier status.

Can You Really Make Some Extra Money With Branded Surveys?

Making a little money with Branded Surveys is undoubtedly possible. But, in all honesty, it won’t be very much, even with dedication. This isn’t a scenario that’s unique to Branded Surveys at all. Surveys are notorious for paying very little. The minimum number of points you must earn to receive a distribution is 1,000, which equals $10.

I’m closing in on my first payout with 932 points.

Branded Surveys Account Balance

I do like that you have options for the form of distribution. You can choose to receive cash either through PayPal or a direct transfer to your bank account. Alternatively, there’s an extensive selection of gift cards to popular vendors and restaurants.

Realistically, I wouldn’t expect to make much more than $10 per week. In addition to low rates of compensation, there will be times when there are no surveys available to take, and you have to check back. Moreover, there are always the inevitable disqualifications. You may receive a consolation prize of a point or 2 after you waste 10 minutes attempting a survey.

There’s nothing wrong with an extra $10 per week or $40 per month, especially if you really enjoy sharing your opinions. But surveys are not a path to riches!

So, Is Branded Surveys Legit?

Yes! All indications are that Branded Surveys is a legitimate operation. You can indeed share your opinions and generate a small side income. And, if earning small amounts for those coveted little extras is enough for you, I don’t want to discourage you from pursuing this opportunity.

I guess the bigger question is whether that’s truly your goal. Or, are you seeking a way to make money online to supplement your income in a more substantial way? Maybe you even have thoughts of replacing your primary income source and focusing entirely on the online space.

You may be settling for surveys because you’re not sure what else is available. If that describes your situation, you may want to consider using whatever free time you have to explore other options.

There is a no-risk platform (free to join) where you can get some useful training for navigating today’s online world and develop marketable skills. The primary focus of this industry-leading platform is affiliate marketing. You’ll be exposed to a four-step blueprint that can lead to massive online success.

Learning how to create a WordPress website, along with all the things you can do with a website, is fascinating, and an exercise no one should miss out on trying.

Whether you decide to stick with surveys or expand your horizons, I wish you well!

  1. Hi Linda! I’m so glad I stumbled across your post here – I love to read how you write, even if it’s regarding surveys!
I’ve tried doing surveys before, I subscribed to Panel Place as well as Home Tester Club (I’m not sure whether you’ve heard of them) but they are pretty similar.

I agree that surveys can’t be a long term plan for all of us – it does give me a lil money but I try to do it when I actually have the time.

There’s also a company here that lets you do a face to face home study whereby you’ll be welcoming interviewers doing field studies to your house and they will ask you questions. Do you have something like this where you’re at?

I found that they tend to pay a lot more for this. It does take more of your time, but I found it more interesting to engage with someone than simply doing surveys!

    • Hi Wina,

Many companies and major brands are desperate for consumer insights and product feedback. As a result, there are many ways for consumers to engage and earn a bit of compensation, I have experience with online surveys, phone interviews, and focus group participation.

I must admit that I would not feel comfortable or ever consider inviting an interviewer into my home regardless of the rate of pay. But we’re all different, I hope this type of engagement works out well for you.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences!

  2. Hello there,  i must say this is a very timely post for me,  I discussed with my friend on how I could make some passive income online especially now that I am at home due to the codon virus pandemic and he mentioned branded survey and I decided to make some research on it so I could get a clearer picture of what it really entails, and this post right here has answered so many questions in my mind regarding Branded survey, thanks for sharing.

    • Hi Jomata,

I’m that I could answer your questions about Branded Surveys. The platform will definitely allow you to earn small amounts of income from home, which may be helpful to many people. But, I do want to clarify that while you will earn on the Internet, the income from taking surveys is not passive. It requires active participation in answering questions, and you are trading time for money with every survey.

If you are interested in eventually earning passive income, you really should consider joining the platform I use to operate my online affiliate marketing business. To be perfectly clear, blogging is not initially passive. A great deal of work goes into filling your website with relevant information for niche viewers. But, with hard work upfront, you can earn passive income down the road as people from around the globe continue to engage with articles that you wrote months or even years ago.

Good luck as you pursue your goal of earning online!

    • Branded Surveys has a minimum withdrawal threshold of $10, which is the equivalent of 1,000 points. Hope this helps!
