Welcome to my Survey Honey Review! Please join me as I share my experiences and feedback on the latest survey site I joined called Survey Honey. I’m always on the lookout for new opportunities to make a little extra money. So when I got wind of this relatively new paid survey platform, I had to jump on it.
After two days of membership, let me cut to the chase. If you’re searching for an easy way to earn a little extra spending money (and who isn’t?), I would keep looking. This is not your best choice!
Is Survey Honey legit? Yes, I suspect they are because you can find folks who claim to have received payment from them. You’ll find plenty of complaints as well. But I tend to take those with a grain of salt and I always form my own opinions after test driving a platform.
I already know that I’ll never see any compensation from Survey Honey.
Why?
Because I don’t have either the necessary patience or sufficient time to waste when there are so many better options.
But before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s explore Survey Honey a bit. shall we?
What is Survey Honey?
Very simply, Survey Honey is a paid survey site. Just one of many paid survey sites that exist. Membership is limited to individuals who are at least 18 years old and live in the United States.
The owner of the platform is SurveyHoney LLC, a limited liability corporation. The owners established the corporation in February 2020 making it a very new kid on the block as survey sites go.
Very little information is available about the owners or the site itself which always makes me a bit nervous. For example, I have no idea how many members Survey Honey has. The total amount paid to participants to date is also unknown. There are many other programs that happily share these types of information and have a 10-plus year history.
How Does Survey Honey Work?
Survey Honey is free to join for participants who meet the criteria as stated above of being 18 or older and residents of the US. You must create an account and verify your e-mail address to get started. From there, you can begin the process of completing your profile.
Capturing the demographic characteristics of members is essential. Companies engaged in market research target certain groups of consumers. Your personal attributes are used to find a match.
I must admit that I like the fact that Survey Honey provides some compensation for completing your profile. Many sites do not offer compensation even though all require a profile. I earned close to 300 Honey Coins for completing my profile.
Honey Coins are the proprietary currency of Survey Honey and are the equivalent of 1 cent in US Dollars. So I earned about $3 for my profile completion. That all sounds fine, right? But I’ll explain in a moment why I can”t get excited.
The surveys available are not unique to Survey Honey. They are all provided by various survey routers like Samplicio or Your Surveys. Additionally, answering survey questions is essentially the only way to make money. The only other possibility is answering 10 Daily Polls for eligibility to enter a monthly drawing for $100. Somehow, I suspect the odds are not with me on the drawing.
Surveys
There is generally a lengthy list of surveys displayed in your Dashboard. Here’s a sampling of my current dashboard:
There are actually several additional pages of surveys currently available which I know looks good at first glance. But as a veteran survey taker, I can assure you that you won’t qualify for most of them. Sad, but true!
Because Survey Honey doesn’t offer and of its own questionnaires, what you find is that you must qualify for each poll you attempt. Notice in the list above that you can’t tell which router provides the questions. That translates into a ton of time wasted answering the same repetitive questions endlessly.
Surveys are frequently already filled. That makes sense to me because the same surveys are being offered on multiple different websites. There is nothing unique here. And, if you do get lucky enough to qualify and complete a few sessions, you may run up against limits as I did.
After several days of membership here’s my Dashboard.
I struggled to complete 7 surveys over the course of about a week. I was not only frequently disqualified but I also encountered technical issues with a few surveys with the result that I did not receive credit upon completion. Hours were spent to earn 439 Honey Coins in total.
Remember when I told you above that I got about 300 Honey Coins for completing my profile? Do the math. I completed 7 surveys to earn an additional 139 Honey Coins or the equivalent of $1.39.
Now let’s put the icing on the cake. You must earn 1800 Honey Coins or $18 before you can withdraw your earnings. At my current rate which amounts to a few cents per hour, that will take far longer than I am willing to spend. This is why I stated in the introduction that I will never see any compensation.
Comparison to Other Platforms
If I compare Survey Honey to one of my personal favorite paid survey platforms, Rewarding Ways, I find there really is no reasonable comparison.
Rewarding Ways also offers surveys from a variety of survey routers. A key difference is that you know which router you’re dealing with upfront before you decide to attempt the survey. This is very important for me because I have found major differences between providers.
I have had good success with Your Surveys. No one qualifies for every survey but I seem to achieve a higher percentage with this company. Additionally, I find their polls are well-written and tend to pay a little better. On the other hand, I prefer to avoid Samplicio. Questions are poorly written and sometimes don’t have an appropriate answer.
Another thing I really like about Rewarding Ways is that there are multiple ways to earn besides answering survey questions. For example, you can complete Offers, download apps, or watch videos. Best of all, you can cash out with as little as $1 and the money will be in your PayPal account almost instantly. Or, you can choose gift cards.
Finally, Rewarding Ways is available worldwide and not just to US residents. So, it really does offer a number of advantages over Survey Honey.
Does Survey Honey Have An App?
At this point in time, Survey Honey does not have a mobile app. In theory, the website is mobile responsive and you should still be able to use your smartphone to access the platform. I have tried logging on with my phone but I did not find it user-friendly.
In my experience, survey questions did not reformat properly and were very difficult to read. I much prefer an app that’s designed for a mobile screen.
How Will You Get Paid?
Survey Honey only offers one form of payment. I must admit it’s my preferred form. You can only be paid through PayPal so you will have to create an account if you don’t have one yet.
You can request a distribution once you accrue $18.00 in your account. A standard distribution takes about 2 weeks to hit your PayPal account. You can receive your payment in as little as 24 hours but it’s costly. Accelerated payment will cost you 20% of your total distribution.
You should also be aware that Honey Coins expire after 2 years.
Conclusions From My Survey Honey Review
Thanks for sticking with me throughout this Survey Honey Review. As I indicated at the outset, I believe Survey Honey is a legitimate platform. I don’t see it as your best opportunity to make extra money. But if you really enjoy taking surveys, I think you’re safe enough with this program.

I remember doing some surveys similar to SurveyHoney and it took was seemed like forever to make any decent money. It took so long in fact, that I wasn’t willing to spend my time doing it. I think these kinds of things are best for those who have free time on their hands, enjoy surveys, and are not worried about trying to make money. For someone like me, though, I can’t afford to spend my time with surveys like those.
Hi Larry.
You and I have very similar reactions to paid survey sites. Mind you, some of these platforms can provide a few extra bucks a month to supplement your existing income. But no one is making a lot of money. If you’re looking for a more lucrative opportunity you might want to check out the platform I joined 5 years ago. I took full advantage of the opportunity to check out this amazing platform for free and I have never looked back.
Many opportunities exist to make money online. Good luck finding the best opportunity for you! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
It was the first time I learned that I could earn money by answering surveys. I personally enjoy answering surveys. It’s especially interesting that downloading apps is also a way to make money. It is a pity that only mobile responsiveness is possible, but it is good information to be able to earn money by answering surveys that I enjoy.
Hi Minjun,
There are indeed many sites where you can earn money by taking surveys. These sites represent a huge source of information for market researchers and brands. Many sites also offer additional opportunities to earn like trying offers, downloading apps, watching videos, and playing games.
Be aware that you certainly can’t earn a living on any of these platforms. But some can provide a nice source of additional income for the little extras. To maximize your opportunities consider some of the better GPT (Get-Paid-To) websites. I recommend you look at sites like Rewarding Ways, Offernation, Prize Rebel, and Inbox Dollars to get started. These are all legitimate platforms. You can find reviews describing each of these sites on my blog.
Good luck and thanks for reading!
