How to Get Starbucks Gift Cards for Free! Latte Anyone?

Americans routinely crave their cup of Joe, don’t we? So, who can blame us for wondering how to get Starbucks gift cards for free. After all. Starbucks remains an icon almost 50 years after brewing its first addictive drink back in 1971.

As we pass by a shop, the Starbuck’s mermaid beckons us in for a delicious latte or maybe a pastry. But, let’s face it; these pleasures aren’t cheap. And, many of us may experience a twinge of guilt as we indulge ourselves.

So, what better way is there to avoid guilt than using a free gift card?

Well, okay. There’s also abstinence. But what fun is that?

For all you coffee aficionados, let’s learn to earn some free gift cards, shall we?

5 Easy Tips for How to Get Starbucks Gift Cards for Free

Free gift cards are popular rewards on hundreds of platforms across the Internet. We could certainly talk about more than the 5 sites listed below.

So, how did I select these websites? Let me explain.

All of the websites discussed met these essential criteria:

  • They are unquestionably legitimate sites that are safe to use.
  • The platforms are free to join.
  • The tasks required to earn gift cards are simple and quick.
  • All of these sites have low cashout thresholds meaning you won’t have to wait long for your coffee.
  • I know from personal experience that your Starbucks gift card will arrive promptly upon request.

1. Swagbucks

Swagbucks is an online portal where members earn rewards for completing simple tasks. Those tasks include taking surveys, shopping through online partners, using their search engine, watching videos, and more. Users receive the platform’s proprietary currency called swag bucks (SBs).

Prodege, a  large marketing company, launched Swagbucks in 2008. To date, this rewards site has paid members more than $438 million. In addition to other tasks, refer your family and friends to Swagbucks. If your referral earns 300 SB in their first 30 days of membership, you each receive a bonus of 300 SB. You will also receive 10% of each referral’s earnings for life.

Each SB is worth one cent. So, 100 SBs is the equivalent of $1. Just click on ‘Redeem Your SB’ in the left sidebar menu to view your reward options. You can request electronic gift cards to many popular retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, or Starbucks.

Most egift cards (including Starbucks) require 500 SB. But there are a couple of choices, including Amazon, for 300SB. In fact, you can get a $1 Amazon reward. But I recommend being more patient because the $1 award will cost you 140 SB. You can also request cash via PayPal once you have 500 SB ($5).

2. Rewarding Ways

Rewarding Ways is a GPT (Get-Paid-To) website that offers consumers multiple ways to make a little money. Members can take surveys, complete offers, watch videos, and refer friends for either cash or points. Points are equal to 1 cent, and users can easily convert points to cash or vice versa, depending on the reward you desire.

An online advertising firm called 99 Ventures LTD owns Rewarding Ways and started the platform in 2011. In some respects, Rewarding Ways is similar to Swagbucks, but it’s a smaller platform. If you’re into surveys, you may prefer Rewarding Ways because they partner with many providers and always have a lot of surveys.

You can earn Tango gift cards, which include all of your favorite retailers. Or, you can request cash via PayPal. For a $5 Starbucks gift card, you will need 500 points. It’s not a stretch to earn that in a couple of days on this platform. Rewarding Ways processes payments daily, and you will have your reward almost immediately following request.

3. Shopkick

Shopkick is a mobile shopping app that is available for both IOS and Android devices. Enable Bluetooth to personalize your Shopkick experience and see all the nearby locations where you can earn rewards. This platform partners with over 250,000 retailers.

Shopkick Logo

The idea behind Shopkick is to introduce users to new products and to encourage trying new shopping venues. You can earn “Kicks” (Shopkick’s proprietary currency) in these different ways:

  • Get Kicks for walking into certain retailers (For instance, Target awards 10 walk-in Kicks)
  • Receive Kicks for locating products in stores and scanning the barcode
  • Purchase specified items and upload your receipt to earn
  • Link a credit card and shop at a retailer offering rewards (For example, buy at Home Depot to earn 1 Kick /$1)
  • View ads within the mobile app

I frequent a shopping center near my home that has multiple Shopkick participants. It’s fun to wander around earning Kicks by walking into different stores, And, I’m a regular at Home Depot and several other participating stores. So, those points add up as well even though I don’t do anything extra to earn them.

Trax, a leading provider of computer analytic solutions for retailers, acquired Shopkick in 2019. Earn Kicks online or in stores and exchange them for digital gift cards or PayPal cash distributions. You need 1,250 Kicks for a $5 Starbucks gift card.

5. Fetch Rewards

Fetch Rewards is a mobile shopping app that launched in 2017 and is a personal favorite of mine. What could be better than earning rewards for snapping pics of your grocery receipts? Once you download the Fetch Rewards app to your mobile device, it takes seconds to scan your receipt from within the app.

Fetch Rewards Logo

Why do I like this app so much? Fetch makes it easy to make money with the grocery receipts that everybody has. It doesn’t matter where you shop or what you buy. Every valid grocery receipt is worth at least 25 points. You can increase the number of points you earn by purchasing brands that partner with Fetch.

Fetch partners with 326 different brands that are household names. Think Heinz, Hellman’s, Cheerios, Scott, and Kleenex, to name a handful. Unlike other grocery apps, you don’t have to select products and stores in advance of shopping (and you never have to scan any product barcodes).

Just scan the receipt and get credit for any recognized brand name products you happened to purchase. It really doesn’t get any simpler than that! Oh, and don’t forget to tell your family and friends. Currently, you will earn 2,000 points ($2) for each person who joins using your invite code. Your friend will also receive 2,000 points when they upload their first receipt.

Your $5 Starbucks gift card requires 5,000 points. I just received my latest distribution this past week. Expect to see your digital card in your email within moments of making a request.
