Summary:  InstaGC is a GPT or Get-Paid-To rewards website where members get paid to engage in simple activities such as taking surveys, completing offers, watching videos, downloading apps, and more. Members earn points for their efforts that can be redeemed for rewards.

My Rating: 1.5 out of 5

Recommended?: Yes, for those interested in earning a few extra bucks each month.

What is InstaGC?

InstaGC (a shortened version of Instant Gift Cards) is a web-based GPT (Get-Paid-To) site where consumers get paid to perform simple tasks and interact with organizations in various ways. Some of the duties include taking surveys, completing offers and product trials, downloading apps, watching videos, clicking ads, and searching the web.

Day Online Solutions, LLC, a US-based firm operating a network of websites, is the owner of InstaGC, which launched back in 2011. Not a lot of information is available about this parent company because it’s privately held. But, the organization is registered with the Better Business Bureau and holds an A+ rating.

Anyone 18 or older can join for free regardless of your location in the world. Moreover, 13 to 17-year-olds can also participate with parental permission. With activities so restricted right now, it might be an excellent way to occupy teenagers who are at loose ends.

To date, InstaGC has awarded more than 1.3 million gift cards.

How Does InstaGC Work?

Joining InstaGC is a quick and simple process. You can sign up with your social media account. Alternatively, provide your name and email address, and confirm your email address to get started earning immediately. You will receive 10 points as a sign-on bonus.

InstaGC uses a point system. Each point earned by completing a task has a conversion value of 1 cent. So, 100 points are the equivalent of $1.

After logging in, click on the Earn menu to see the following recommended earning methods:

InstaGC Recommended Earning Methods

The screenshot above shows the various organizations, survey routers, and Offer Walls with which InstaGC partners. These are all well-known providers. Drilling down, you will find a lot to keep you busy and considerable task variety.

That said, I was disappointed to see that InstaGC doesn’t offer much in the way of unique activities. All of these partners are available through many other websites. I also observed that some of the links (for example, Peanut Labs) are not currently functional.

Surveys

Surveys tend to be the “bread and butter” activity of any GPT site. By that, I mean that surveys usually pay more than most other activities. If you explore the various partner sites, you will spot many survey-taking opportunities. It does take a bit of digging because InstaGC’s filtering capability seems limited.

If you read the comment on the top of the above image, you would expect to click on ‘Surveys’ and see all of the available polls. Or at least that was my expectation. But filtering on the Survey tab only brought up offerings by TheoremReach. Exploring the Tasks option also showed additional surveys available through YourSurveys.

YourSurveys pays a little better at about 70 points per survey. TheoremReach currently has offerings ranging from 4 points to 80 points (with only one option at the high end). So, I have to conclude that compensation rates are higher on multiple other sites such as SuperPay.Me or Rewarding Ways.

I can state that I completed 2 surveys, and the points showed up in my account immediately. I find this a big plus as there are many websites where it can take several days for points to credit. Rapid crediting of points allowed me to redeem immediately, which was great.

Trial Offers

Offers are another way to earn substantial points. In fact, this is where the largest number of points are typically available on any GPT site. You want to be cautious here because very often, you have to make a purchase.

If it’s something you intended to buy anyway, you can get some terrific deals. But this is more of a discount or savings opportunity rather than real earnings. You will often end up spending more than you earn. So, you don’t want to get carried away with offers.

But, I was toying with the idea of trying a subscription meal service called Freshley. This vendor has healthy alternatives and offers single servings, both of which are appealing. The offer from Freshley was excellent with a considerable discount, and InstaGC also offered 552 points.

Freshly Logo

I was able to purchase something I intended to buy any way at a substantial discount. So, that was pretty cool. But, I don’t want to be swayed by too many “good deals” or my money-making venture could cost me a bundle! 🙂

There are always plenty of opportunities to try products or services on a trial basis. Many people decide they can make some money by signing up for say a 14 day trial period with the intention of canceling before the introductory period ends. This can work.

But you do need to be very organized in your approach. I recommend keeping a calendar that you check daily. In most cases, you have to provide a credit card upfront. If you forget to cancel before your trial period ends, you will end up with unwanted charges.

Some offers can be free such as downloading mobile apps. This can be super for gamers since most of the apps will be games, and you may find some new favorites. Just make sure you read the rules and requirements to earn your points. You may have to leave the app installed for a certain number of days or achieve a certain level in the game.

InstaGC Sample Offers

Watch Videos

Getting paid to watch videos sounds incredibly attractive, doesn’t it? But this isn’t going to be a big money-maker for you. You have to watch a playlist of 20 video clips that will run for 30 to 45 minutes. The compensation is 1 point. I did find it interesting that it’s perfectly acceptable to run multiple playlists on different devices at the same time.

But, you won’t be earning more than about $1 a month even if you run videos continuously.

Shopping

If you do a lot of shopping online, you should explore using a cash rebate site to save money on your purchases. Unfortunately, InstaGC is not the portal you want to use. Currently, they offer small rebates for only 3 vendors. Shopping rebates are obviously not a focus for this site.

I recommend you look into TopCashback or BeFrugal instead where you can earn cash rebates on thousands of different online retail websites.

Appen Tasks (Formerly Figure Eight)

One interesting type of task to spice things up with a bit of variety involves performing micro-tasks. You may be able to earn points for things like transcribing short audio clips or maybe labeling images in a video. Check this out if you need a break from surveys.

The list of Appen tasks is quite limited right now, but that may improve because they’re working on adding to the list.

Searching the WebSearch the Web With InstaGC

If you typically perform a lot of searches for information in Google, you may be able to do your querying through InstaGC and pad your account balance by a few extra cents. This is one aspect of the platform that I haven’t been able to use yet. For some reason, I get an error message.

I used this as an opportunity to interact with Site Support to see if they were responsive and helpful. I have gotten a response to my support ticket. But, so far, the support team hasn’t been able to figure out or correct my issue.

Point Booster Codes

If you decide to join InstaGC, you should follow them on social media. I earned 10 points yesterday by finding Point Booster Codes and pasting them into a text box the platform. One code was posted on their Facebook page, and the other was on Twitter.

Codes are popular tools by GPT sites to keep members engaged. Swagbucks calls them Swag Codes. Prize Rebel uses the term Promo Code. In all instances, they’re quick additions to your accumulated points that give you a little push towards your next reward.

Referral Program

An additional way to make money with InstaGC is by referring friends and family members to the platform; For each referral, regardless of their country of residence, you earn a recurring commission equal to 10% of their lifetime earnings.

Furthermore, if the referral is a resident of the US, UK, Canada, or Australia, you will also receive a 10 point bonus after the individual signs up through your link and confirms their email.

How Do Members Get Paid?

The easiest and most common way of getting paid by InstaGC is to redeem your points for egift cards. The program has an impressive redemption catalog with more than 340 gift card choices. Furthermore, many are available in amounts as small as $1, which means you can cash out quickly.

For US residents, it’s also possible to get cash via direct deposit to your checking or savings account. But, I don’t necessarily recommend this option for several reasons. Firstly, you must accumulate $5 to request this payout. That’s still not too bad when you consider that there are sites where you need $30 to request a withdrawal.

But, in addition to needing more points, a direct deposit will cost you a fee of 20 points and could take as long as 8 days to process. On the other hand, gift cards have no fee and appear in your email instantly. I was a bit skeptical when I read that claim. But I can tell you that’s precisely how it worked.

InstaGC Proof of Payment

It’s possible to get distributions via PayPal. However, you must first redeem $50 in egift cards before this option is available. Once you unlock PayPal, you will need a minimum of $5, and there is a 20 point fee to use this method. As much as I like PayPal funds, I would stick with Amazon before incurring a cost to withdraw my earnings.

InstaGC Pros

  • Free to join
  • Available worldwide
  • Multiple ways to make money
  • Low minimum payout threshold for gift cards of $1
  • More than 340 egift card choices
  • Gift card redemptions delivered instantly
  • Mobile-friendly for earning from anywhere
  • Referral program offering recurring commissions

InstaGC Cons

  • You must earn $50 in gift cards before PayPal is available
  • Some elements of the site don’t function as well as they could
  • The earning potential is low

Is InstaGC Legit?

There is no question in my mind that InstaGC is a legitimate platform. I have several reasons for arriving at this conclusion. First, the longevity of the platform is a good indication. It’s been around for 9 years. Secondly, InstaGC partners with established companies that appear on many other websites.

Finally, they honored their commitment to pay me promptly as soon as I earned the necessary 100 points. InstaGC is not a scam, and their privacy policy suggests your information is safe.

But, just because it’s legit doesn’t mean it’s a great choice. As a US resident, I have access to other GPT sites that I feel are better managed than this one. I would choose Swagbucks, Prize Rebel, Rewarding Ways, or SuperPay.Me in a heartbeat. Frankly, every one of these reward platforms has more tasks at better pay rates.

But I will admit that you may come to a different conclusion depending on where you live. Anyone can join InstaGC, and it may represent a good option in your country. It may also be a good choice if you have teenagers eager to make a little money online. Most sites require members to be 18.

Final Thoughts

Thanks for joining me today for this InstaGC review. If I failed to answer all of your questions about this GPT platform, please give me a shout in the comment section below, and I’ll get back to you promptly. InstaGC is clearly a legitimate program, And, yes you can make money on this website.

But, depending on your circumstances and the alternatives available to you, this may not be your best choice of a side hustle. It’s also critical that you join any rewards website with the knowledge that you won’t be replacing your primary source of income.

If earning a more substantial income from home is what you’re really searching for, I urge you to investigate the way I make money with affiliate marketing. Get everything you need to be successful.

  1. As my retirement grows closer I wonder what the future holds. My number one concern is finances. Have I prepared enough and will I be able to maintain my standard of living? As I grew up I was told it is never too early to start a pension. The same can be said about an online business. However, you can also reverse that, iI is never to later to start an online business. It is reassuring that I can learn this for a better future. Thank you for your opportunity.

    • Hi Castle,

I think many of us share your concerns about retirement and our financial future. I feel like a testament to the fact that it’s never too late to start an online business. Would it have been better to start before I retired? You bet! But we can’t change where we are in life. And, I love that the Internet is such a level playing field where we all have the opportunity to participate.

I hope you move forward with your online business plans. You can do this, and I wish you well!
